    Yves Chauvin Thesis Prize for a PhD student monitored by IFP School

    The 2012 Yves Chauvin Thesis Prize was awarded to two laureates, Marie Savonnet and Ibrahim Abada, for their respective work on the synthesis of new catalysts based in MOFs and on the evolution of natural gas markets in Europe until 2035.

    Created by IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN), in honor of the 2005 Nobel laureate in Chemistry, this prize is awarded annually to honor the excellent work carried out by IFPEN doctoral students.

    The IFP School Center for Economics and Management team has taken an active part in supporting the work of Ibrahim Abada. We extend our warmest congratulations for this prestigious award which recognizes his outstanding and innovative contributions!

    The work presented in his thesis entitled "Modelling of natural gas markets in Europe in oligopolistic competition, the GaMMES model and some applications" have resulted in three publications in international refereed journals and more than 10 papers presented at international conferences.

    This award also recognizes the success of a scientific collaboration between EDF R&D teams represented by Vincent Briat, the group of Professor Steven A. Gabriel (University of Maryland, United States), the IFPEN Economics and Information Watch and Management Division and the IFP School Center for Economics and Management (contact: Olivier Massol).
