    Oral thesis examination-Ibrahim Abada

    Last February 23rd, Ibrahim Abada defended his PhD thesis entitled: "Modelling of natural gas markets in Europe in oligopolistic competition, the GAMMES model and some applications".

    This thesis in economics focused on the evolution of natural gas markets in Europe until 2035. The study was also devoted to the issue of security of gas supply in Europe and to favorable conditions for the regulation of markets vulnerable to the risk of supply disruption.

    The thesis committee, chaired by Professor Anna Creti (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre-La Défense), was composed of Professors René Aid (R&D EDF, FIME), Alain Ayong-Le-Kama (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre-La Défense), Steven Gabriel (University of Maryland), Pierre-André Jouvet (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre-La Défense) and Christoph Weber (Universität Duisburg Essen).

    Ibrahim Abada was unanimously applauded by members of the jury for his outstanding work. His thesis, which is the result of a partnership between IFP Energies nouvelles and EDF R&D, was led by Vincent Briat (EDF R&D), Pierre-André Jouvet (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre-La Défense) and Olivier Massol (IFP School). It will be nominated for an award and later published.
