IFP School finalist team at 2016 Petrobowl

    October 13, 2016

It’s been a brilliant start for the first participation of the IFP School SPE Student Chapter to a Petrobowl competition, organized on the occasion of the Annual Technology Conference & Exhibition (ATCE) event, held in Dubai on 26th September 2016.

Our Petrobowl team was made up of 5 different nationalities and 3 different Master Programs – [from left to right] Youcef RAMLA, Algeria (DEG), Ezequiel Alvarez Gomez, Argentina (RGE), Alris ALFHARISI, Indonesia (RGE), Denis SUOR, Malaysia (ENEP) (not actually part of the team but sponsored by SPE France), Kreshna Rajendran, Malaysia (ENEP), and Thibaud Le Men, France (DEG).

They had initially qualified for the world finals in the Regional Petrobowl Qualifiers on 13th April 2016 at Stavanger, Norway, where they arrived 4th at the European level.

Only 36 teams out of 129 worldwide qualified for the Petrobowl final competition at the ATCE.

Our team eventually lost against the winner UFRJ (Universidade Federal de Rio de Janeiro) in the 2nd round. Our warmest congratulations to our students for their exceptional performance!
