First prize for IFP School students at the 2016 EAGE Field Challenge

    June 8, 2016

Five IFP School students have won the 2016 international FIELD Challenge (Fully Integrated EvaLuation and Development) of the European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE), a world championship that took place this year in Vienna, Austria from May 30th to June 2nd 2016. The data that was under study had been prepared by the Austrian firm ÖMV and corresponded to a hydrocarbon field located in the Viennese basin.

In the team there were three students from the Reservoir Geoscience and Engineering (RGE) program, Mohd Rais Rasedy BIN ROSLAN (Malaysia), Errazi BEN AHMED (Tunisia) and Valentina CACERES (Bolivia), and two students David PRIGENT (France) and Jaouad GUEZAL (Morocco) from the Petroleum Geosciences program (GOP and GOL).

Let us note that Texas A&M, one of IFP School’s main partner universities, came second. The teams of the Indian Institute of Technology of Bombay and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (Malaysia) shared third place.

Thumbs up to our students who amply deserve this result and who worked with an extraordinary sense of commitment!
