    ENEP students - practical workshop

    February 23, 2016

From 15th to 17th February, students from the Energy and Processes (ENEP) program put into practice the knowledge they acquired during their courses at IFP School whilst working on full-scale installations at the OLEUM training center in Dunkirk.

During this practical workshop, they inspected a furnace and a distillation column, prepared pumps and flash drums, set up and ran a refining unit, carried out a safety audit, etc.

The aim of this ENEP workshop is for the students to apply the knowledge they have acquired in Rueil to real situations and on real installations of an oil and gas refinery. An active teaching approach, based on role plays, treasure hunts and error recognition, enabled the students to take an active part in their learning and to develop their know-how in concrete situations. They also worked on the behavior to be adopted in terms of communication between the different players and with respect to different jobs within a refinery.
