Pétrofolies 2014, sport, solidarity and a great atmosphere

    May 28, 2014

Pétrofolies, one of the major events in the IFP School calendar, took place on 22 May 2014. Organized by the Student Association, this event combines sports competitions, conviviality, team spirit and solidarity.

This sports challenge brought together 170 students of the 2014 Class and staff of the School at the Stade du Parc, Rueil-Malmaison, with activities such as soccer, ultimate frisbee and archery. The Petroleum Engineering and Project Development (DEG) program won the overall challenge.

The event took place in a festive atmosphere and in bright sunshine despite the threatening storm clouds in the morning.

This year, for the first time ever, the students organized a “solidarity run". This run consisted in completing a 3.5 km circuit of the playing fields and at the end of each lap participants were showered with colored powder (made from cornstarch).

The funds generated by the race were donated to the 2014 Class Gift. This initiative aims to fund an Excellence Scholarship for an international student admitted to the School in September 2014.

The students of the Energy and Processes (ENEP) program won the race. The Dean of the School, Philippe Pinchon, gave each student a certificate congratulating them on their exemplary solidarity.
