IFP School wins the second round of the French Students Cup

    March 6, 2014

A crew of IFP School students won the second round of the 21st French Students Cup, which took place on 1st and 2nd March 2014 in Quiberon Bay, near Trinité-Sur-Mer.

For this second round of the competition, the students defended the School's colours and the colours of their partner Perenco aboard the Grand Surprise sail boat. Crew members were:

    • Thibault Court (PEM)
    • Guillaume Hervé (ENM)
    • Philippe de Lastic Saint Jal (DEG)
    • Médéric Moisson de Vaux (DEG)
    • Alban Meteyer (PEM)
    • Marc-Antoine Roche (DEG)
    • Quentin Sustrac (DEG)

Five races took place during the two day regatta. The crew competed against 18 other crews, one of which was the School's alumni crew, the "IFP retirees".

The IFP School crew finished 6th in the first race despite having a torn spinnaker. After a rapid return to port for a quick repair job, they won the last two races of the day! They performed equally well on the Sunday and finally won the round.

The French Students Cup is a sailing competition organized by EDHEC. It takes place over three weekends between January and Easter. The last regatta will be from Granville to Jersey. Our students will be out to win! Good luck and fair sailing !
